What’s a WordPress backup
A WordPress backup is a comprehensive snapshot of your entire website, typically stored as a compressed file. It includes all your website files (such as themes, plugins, images, and other media) and your database (which contains your posts, pages, comments, and settings). While it’s possible to create separate backups for just your database or just your files, a full backup encompasses everything.
The beauty of a full backup lies in its versatility. If anything goes wrong with your site – whether it’s a failed update, a hacking attempt, or accidental changes – you can use this backup to restore your website to its exact state at the time the backup was created. It’s like a time machine for your WordPress site, allowing you to ‘roll back’ to a known, working version.
